My Background

I studied at the Birmingham School of Chiropody and Podiatry, completing a three year full time course and qualifying in 1973. ( D.Pod.M .) I registered with the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine ( C.P.S.M .) as a State Registered Chiropodist. ( S.R.Ch.) I became a member of The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. ( M.Ch.S.)

I commenced my professional career with the N.H.S., working for Wolverhampton Area Health Authority and Dudley Area Health Authority gaining experience in clinic, hospital and domicilliary environments.

In 1974 I became a member of the Podiatry Association to further my post graduate education. I also took an industrial position as Chiropodist to Delta Tubes Ltd, Dudley Road, Birmingham where I remained part time for a number of years.

In 1975 I started a part time position in private practice at Lich Gates, Wolverhampton with two colleagues, Mr. Christopher Lees and Mr Paul Curtis with whom I had trained.

In 1976 I aquired the present practice from Miss Mary Kidney and when the Wolverhampton surgery closed in 1986 I was able to expand the Wellington base and eventually leave the N.H.S in 2002.

I have always considered continuing professional development (CPD) to be an important part of professional practise and I regularly attend courses and the annual conference to keep up to date with latest evidence based issues and to network with other colleagues.
